Tobiko was ok, the quality of Salmon seemed ok but hard to tell bc of Wasabi, redsnapper in the roll was quite chewy. And every question we asked the girl taking the order had no idea what the answer was (she was nice), so even trying to verify descriptions ect was difficult. Anywhere else I have gotten this roll, the whole roll has always been deep fried. The roll I got said deep fried but only the fish in the roll was deep fried, that was not clear. If you get the Nigiri be aware that they put Wasabi between the fish and the rice to hold it together (which was not mentioned on the menu or when ordering) so that completely ruined the taste for me. The 2 pieces of Nigiri I got here equal the size of one piece from other sushi restaurants in Columbus and what I got here cost 2x as much. To begin with it is quite overpriced for the portion sizes (see photo of the piece of salmon compared to my thumb, not even close in size and my hands are pretty small). I REALLY wanted to like this place, it's been on my list of places to try for a while. If they'd fix their menus with correct pricing, and create more of an overall hibachi flair as I would typically expect, I'd increase my rating.įirst and only time I will eat here. The chefs were all very personable and accommodating. No sake squirted across the grill, no chef knife action, and no rice thrown to see if you catch it, but nevertheless they did do the onion fire volcano. There wasn't much overall flair for what I'd typically see at my local hibachi spot though. Yum yum sauce was provided at dinner, but we had to ask for it at lunch. The filet was cooked perfectly and the fried rice didn't even dry out as leftovers. The ginger dressing was not like others I've had. The taste and quality of food seemed decent. With lunch you also only get salad or soup, not both. When I visited for lunch, I was told they do not carry clear/mushroom soup, even though it was blatantly on the dinner menu and I had enjoyed it two evenings prior. Portions in comparison to other hibachi restaurants, also less. Filet dinner portion hibachi ran over $40 with tip and upcharge for fried rice (costs $2 extra). From what I could gather the two times I visited this past week for lunch and dinner, they are roughly $3-$4 more than what's on the menu. They tell you that when they hand you the menu, but don't inform you what the prices are. Menus are all out of date though and have prices crossed off. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and I definitely recommend stopping in to fill your sushi craving.Ĭonvenient place to walk to for dinner when staying at area hotels. The service was very friendly and the food came out rather quickly, even with how busy they were. We also ordered a White Dragon and the others I can't remember. The first one was the Sweet Lover roll which was wrapped in foil and then set on FIRE! It was really cool to watch and tasted pretty good too. We ordered miso soup, a salad and several rolls. The fellas back there were working nonstop, busting out sushi rolls of all kinds. We got to sit directly in front of the sushi bar, which is always fun to watch. We immediately knew we made the right decision.Īfter an empty table was cleared, we were seated and water was brought to the table. We arrived around 7PM on a random Tuesday and the dining room was full and to-go orders were going out left and right. A friend and I were in the mood for sushi and after heading to another restaurant only to find it closed, we pulled up Yelp and found Sushi Ko.
